Hi, I’m Bria, the doula behind Anthea Doula Care in Colorado Springs, Colorado. I support families as they prepare for one of life’s most powerful transitions! I believe every birth and postpartum time is unique. That is one of the reasons I love this work. Each family I have the privilege of supporting teaches me something new and helps shape me into a better and more knowledgable doula. My goal is to help you and your partner feel informed, calm, and supported throughout pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. I believe everyone should feel like someone is in their corner. I will be there just for you and your family, no one else.

I have been interested in becoming a doula for a long time. Since high school, I thought about becoming a midwife, however my life did not go in that direction. I met my husband, Dennis, in 2011. He was in the military, and we moved around often. After having babies of my own in 2020, I knew I wanted to be a birth worker. I, personally, had a hard time adjusting to becoming a mom and I would love to support anyone going through this journey. I did not have a doula for either of my births, but I could have used one. My first birth experience was fast and I thought I knew what to expect, I did not! It was a shock, and I needed someone who knew what was happening and what was a normal part of labor. I needed someone to tell me to relax and exhale. My second birth was also fast, but my breathing was under control and it made the biggest difference. I will be there with you through it all and we’ll exhale, together.

I believe every birth deserves respectful, non-judgmental support. All birth preferences and parenting journeys are respected here. I support clients of every race, culture, religion, gender identity, and sexual orientation.

When I’m not supporting families, you’ll usually find me outside playing with my kids and friends, listening to an audiobook, or—much to my husband’s dismay— starting another house project. My family loves to hike, eat delicious food and explore Colorado.
